Two totals. First, make sure they describe the same home.
A smaller total can cover less work, different quantities or different specifications. Use the same apartment plan and room list, then compare what each quote supplies and installs before deciding what represents value for you.
Create one list of the rooms included in both quotations. For each room, mark retained flooring, furniture and fittings alongside new work. A bedroom with a retained bed cannot be directly compared with a complete new bedroom package until that difference is visible.
Ask or check
Ask each team to confirm the same scope in writing, including any work they cannot supply.
What you leave with: A common room-by-room scope with omissions and differences made explicit.
02
Match quantities and specifications
Compare kitchen cabinet dimensions, wardrobe widths and heights, countertop areas and fixed item counts. Check the measurement unit behind each rate. Record material construction and product or fitting references; a finish-level name used by one company may describe something different at another.
Ask or check
Keep quantity differences separate from changes in the price per unit.
What you leave with: A comparison of the same amount of work at a clearly described specification.
03
Include the work around the products
Check removal, preparation, electrical and plumbing work, installation, protection, transport and waste handling where relevant. Ask who coordinates design and site decisions. Confirm building fees and other third-party charges separately so they do not disappear between a product quote and the site.
Ask or check
Mark each item included, excluded or unclear; request a written price for missing work where needed.
What you leave with: A comparison that covers delivery responsibilities as well as visible products.
04
Compare taxes, changes and the amount payable
Place the total before GST, GST and the amount including GST on separate lines for both quotes. Review assumptions, exclusions, validity, payment milestones and how changes are approved. If a quote is revised, compare the new version against the same work and keep the original for reference.
Ask or check
Ask what would trigger an extra charge, and how you will approve it before the work starts.
What you leave with: A decision based on a complete scope, comparable taxes and an understood change process.

Quote A / Quote B
Use the same room list and record what is included in each.
Your decision
Resolve the unclear items before comparing the final payable amounts.
Do not fill an unexplained gap with an assumption. Ask for a written inclusion, exclusion or separate price.

Connect the advice to your apartment
Start with the right layout.
Room sizes, openings, handed-over finishes and building requirements differ. Use your own development and mapped flat, then confirm the site-dependent details with the team.
Livingly planning guidance helps you prepare questions and compare scope. Apartment dimensions, product specifications, building permissions and site conditions need to be confirmed for your own home. Inspiration images do not show delivered Livingly projects.
